FEES
MLC Medical Centre is a private billing practice.
Please contact one of our team if you have any questions. Our receptionists can provide you with an estimate of what your appointment fee will be, however, the final amount charged by your doctor will be based on the consultation time and the complexity of the issues presented.
Certain items and procedures carry additional costs or fees (eg pregnancy tests, some procedures, mental health or general care plans). All stock items have a small private fee.
FAQ
Transfer of Records
Please speak to your doctor during your appointment if you would like to have your medical record from your previous practice transferred to us. Your previous practice may charge a fee for this service and you will need to speak to them to find out about this.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Consultations are usually by appointment. Emergencies (including "walk-in" patients) will be seen as quickly as possible according to our normal triage process - please notify our reception staff if you have an urgent medical issue.
How do I get my results?
For privacy and medico-legal reasons: you must return in person (or arrange a formal Telehealth appointment) to collect results of any blood tests, scans, or specialist reviews.
Can I request a repeat prescription or referral, without a consultation?
There are conditions that have to be met in order for our doctors to provide these without consultation, for your safety, and to uphold our high level of patient care. Repeat scripts and referrals without a consultation attract a non-rebatable fee. Please phone our practice for more information.
Can I phone my doctor and leave a message?
Whilst we foster open communication with our patients, and allow for adhoc messages, we can not guarantee your doctor will have the resources to reply in a timely manner. If the matter is important we encourage you book a formal consultation.
How is my private information treated?
MLC Medical Centre assures you that your private medical details will be dealt with in a confidential manner. See our full privacy policy.
How do I provide feedback?
Suggestions/complaints can be directed in writing to either your doctor or the
Practice Manager via 02 9232 5477. This ensures confidentiality of your medical/sensitive matters.
We cannot guarantee the safety or confidentiality of your matter if you send it to us via email.
If you are not satisfied or your complaint cannot be resolved within the practice, you may wish
to contact the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC). Contact details for the HCCC are as follows:
Locked Mail Bag 18, Strawberry Hills NSW 2012
T: 02 9219 7444 or 1800 043 159.
